Two Wins Today.

Win 01:  The generator ran all day as we drove.  That’s more mobile running than all the previous attempts put together.  BUT, I’m not going to claim a full success until we have a couple of more winning/running days.

Win 02:  I hooked the external speakers to the TV, and they work great.  Much better sound.  This I will claim as a win.

We are in Muskogee, Oklahoma, which is OK, by the way, but we have not seen any eye-high corn, much less any elephants to measure it against. Plains yes, winds yes, elephants no.

Muskogee is about 30 miles north of interstate 40 on big, good, wide roads, such as Routes 62 and 64, or 720 miles if you wind your way around 23 triple-digit numbered, two lane, country roads as we did, thanks once again to the BIB.

New Rule:  No more three digit numbered roads.

We drove an actual 314 miles today mainly because these big rectangular shaped states seem to have a lot of horizontal miles in them.  When we finally got here, to the Hilltop RV Park (no thanks to the BIB) I laid down and crashed out for two hours.  Yup, me was big tired.  And I still am, so I’m going to cut this short and go see if I can crash some more.

Thursday, September 14, 2023 - And it started right up . . . .  Here we are.  In Roanoke, Virginia.  Camped in the parking lot of the Cummins Dealer. All hooked up and now blogging.  Gee, ain't life grand! Well, only sorta.  We pulled in about noon-ish and checked in a confirmed our appointment for tomorrow.  Then the service manager asked to hear the "banging" noise the generator was making when it was trying to start. No noise.  The genny started right up.  And ran just fine for the last 4 hours or so. So we are now connected to "shore" power, a term stolen from the boating industry, and we will stay overnight and have the Cummins tech check the genny tomorrow and try to find ANY reason for it refusing to run while we are driving, and/or why it was refusing to start after stopping, and/or what caused the loud banging noise when it was failing to start after stopping.  Oh yeah, to and also install four good bolts in the exhaust manifold to r...

 Wednesday, September 13th, 2023 - Second Post Today. Tirade 1:  Ms. Shawn arrived this morning, crashed for a couple of hours, and then we launched the rig and headed North/West up towards Roanoke, VA.  We hadn't planned to actually make it to Roanoke, and we didn't. Not because we couldn't, it was more because of the Google BIB.  If you know "BIB" laugh, if you don't, don't ask.  We were an hour out from the big "R" when she tried to send us down a cow trail road which I refused to accept and turned around and now we are back down on a nice highway (Rt 58) at a Mom & Pop RV Camp, and the owner told me there is a much easier, more major road (Rt 220) to big "R" just seven miles away.  Moral:  Never trust the BIB and be willing to refuse her directions if they just don't feel right.   Thursday, October 05 th , 2023.   So, how’d she do dat?   DID she do dat? Interesting question in the header. The “she” is a very nasty lady sitting in her car, looking at/working with what appeared to be an iPhone, in the gas lane at a Buc-ees Gas station and blocking me in.   When asked if she would move to another parking spot she snappily (as in not nice) replied, “I’ll move when I move!” I said, “Yes Ma’am,” and walked over to the entrance of the store and asked for a security type employee.   But by the time he arrived she had moved, so the situation was over. Or so I thought . . . A few minutes ago, I got an email asking me if I had ‘attempted’ to buy $xxx.xx worth of gas (correct dollar amount) at Buccees (misspelled) on October 3 rd , and if so to “click here” to clear up the yadda-yadda-yadda , with several capitalization errors, and words misspelled.   So, the question(s) are: 1.     Was there a skimmer on the...
